Rockwood Equity Partners Announces Merger Between Amistco Separation Products, Inc. And Acs Separations And Mass Transfer Products

ACS-Amistco will be one of the largest manufacturers of separation and mass transfer products

(December 22, 2011) - Rockwood Equity Partners, a private investment firm based in Cleveland and New York City, today announced the merger between Amistco Separation Products (Amistco) and ACS Separations and Mass Transfer Products. The new company, ACS-Amistco, will be a leading manufacturer of separation and mass transfer products in its markets.

Founded in 1991 and based in Alvin, Texas, Amistco is a manufacturer of highly engineered products and solutions used in separation processes for liquids and gases. The company provides solutions for a wide range of separation applications, including mist eliminators, mass transfer products and wedge wire screen products. In July 2011, Rockwood Equity Partners recapitalized Amistco and began to work with the company to grow the business through expanding the leadership team, exploring strategic partnerships and expanded product offerings.

ACS Separations and Mass Transfer Products is a division of ACS Industries, Inc., which was founded in 1939 and is the world leader in engineered knitted wire mesh solutions. The company entered the separations business in the 1950s and today is a global leader in liquid coalescing units and vapor liquid mist eliminator separation technologies. The company has manufacturing locations in Houston, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico and recently established a manufacturing operation in Shanghai, China.

With the merger of the two businesses, ACS-Amistco will be the largest “pure-play” manufacturer of separation and mass transfer products in its markets, which include chemicals, oil and gas, wastewater and power generation, among others.

"ACS-Amistco will have a leading position in its two key product categories in North America, which are mist eliminators and mass transfer products,” said Brett R. Keith, Managing Director of Rockwood Equity Partners. "In addition, bringing these two leaders together now provides the scale and manufacturing footprint for significant expansion across global markets."

Operations of the companies will be fully integrated during the next twelve months.

“The robust infrastructure of ACS-Amistco will bring additional capabilities and strategic vision to all areas of operations,” said Kevin Orff, President of Amistco. “Together, we can more effectively capitalize on growth opportunities across industry and geographic markets.”

“Combined, the two companies have nearly ten decades of expertise in the separations market, and as ACS-Amistco will be on a trajectory toward global leadership,” said Steven Buckler, President of ACS Industries.
